Many claim that meditation has multiple benefits. It is of note that almost everything that is currently trending online has elements of a craze. This certainly applies to many craze-prone personalities that promote meditation.
This being said, the ability to concentrate is something definitely useful.
Typing without looking at the screen is one way to stimulate one’s ability to stay concentrated. We have already wrote about it in other articles.
This post is another iteration on the same subject. Both, eyes and mind benefit from the way of typing on a computer keyboard which does not involve looking at the screen.
The variant proposed in this post consists in not looking at the screen at all while typing for 10 or 15 minutes.
A text typed in this way may need more editing at first. But with time, the skill of typing without looking at the screen may become solid enough to produce texts almost without mistypes.
If you type a text that need to be published somewhere or sent to another person, reviewing what you wrote is necessary. For this, a text-to-speech application may be useful. Thus, the participation of eyes becomes minimal.
Again, this should be beneficial for people who suffer from eye strain.

Can this mode of typing be helpful to writers? The word “writers” here is used in a large sense. People who regularly write relatively long and complex texts are “writers” in this sense. Can their texts become easier to write? Easier to finalize, to finish?

Journaling is another useful practice. It has elements akin to meditation. We recommend journaling to people who are applying different protocols in order to improve their digestive health or to address other issues. Keeping track with regular journaling should help to figure out which particular variation of a protocol, or a combination of factors, actually worked. Typing without looking at the computer screen could be an enhancement of journaling.

Can typing on a keyboard without looking at the screen be also helpful for people with mood disorders? This is another possibility, another thing to try.

Typing without ever looking at the screen may also help those who have difficulties to concentrate their attention on something, a trait which was labeled “Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder” (ADHD) by some psychiatrists.
